Stonehenge Aotearoa is located in the Wairarapa approximately 10 minutes drive from Carterton.

It was built on the same scale as Stonehenge on Salisbury Plain in England, but is not a replica.

It is designed and built for its precise location in the Wairarapa region of New Zealand and is a complete and working structure.

It incorporates Polynesian navigation, Maori starlore, ancient Egyptian, Babylonian and Celtic astronomy. The whole tour consists of an introduction video and then a guided tour of the stonehenge, explaining exactly what it was build for and more on the calendar used.
